Bitner Family Funeral Homes will help you arrange a fitting funeral service for your loved one, incorporating your family’s needs, customs and desires. Here are a few of our options that can work together or stand alone:

Funeral Service

A formal or informal ceremony before burial, a funeral service often provides a sense of closure to family and friends. Although your faith or culture may dictate certain elements of a funeral service, you may want to personalize others. During a funeral service, the casket or urn is on display and may be open or closed.

Visitations and Memorials

Held the night before or immediately before the funeral service, a visitation (or wake or viewing) allows loved ones to pay respects and offer condolences. As with the funeral service, you may want to decide if an open or closed casket displayed.

At a memorial (or tribute service), a casket or urn is usually not present. Otherwise similar to a funeral or visitation, a memorial service gives family and friends time to come together to celebrate the life lost. 

Graveside Service

A graveside service may be held at the grave site before the burial of a casket or urn. A clergyman and usually consists of final remarks, prayers or memories. The service may occur after or in place of a funeral service.

All of these services can be customized to fit your needs. We will work with you to create a funeral that is most appropriate for your loved one and your situation.
